We’re actively recruiting

Role: Carbon Consultant (Part time)

Salary: £28k - £40k full time. Part time roles will be pro-rata

Location: Remote - occasional meetups in London / Winchester

The role

- Working with clients to measure their carbon footprint and help them reduce it.

This means working with forward-thinking businesses to turn their good intentions into quantifiable action. You will need to be able to communicate effectively to obtain the relevant information we need in order to measure their carbon emissions.

You will need to use maths skills to turn this information into an accurate carbon footprint and then relay the information in an easily digestible format.

Lastly, you'll use your entrepreneurial creativity and a bit of common sense to identify practical solutions for how their business can reduce its footprint in the next 12 months.

- Improving the business.. Being pro-active in finding and implementing ways in which Ecollective can be quicker, more accurate as well as more impactful in our mission to reduce carbon emissions.

We are looking for:

Spreadsheet experience

We can teach you how to do carbon calculations but an ability to understand and be comfortable with spreadsheets is a must (you will be using spreadsheets every day!).

A climate champion

You will need to be able to comfortably talk about the basics of the climate crisis. Passion for the climate helps as you will talk about it most days and your passion would be appreciated by clients who need a nudge in the right direction.

An effective communicator

An ability to explain complex points in simple terms.

Highly organised

Able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. We are a start-up after all.

Enthusiastic

We want someone who's genuinely excited about our mission. There is no shortage of challenges for our clients, but we need to bring energy to the cause to encourage change.

Analytical

We need someone who can see what’s working and what isn’t. There are lots  of ideas, the right person for this role would focus their time on the most important solutions.

A 2:1 or higher degree or 3+ years experience of working in an office environment. (Preference for an environmental / sustainability degree. Or in a field with similarities such as engineering, science or economics.)

Preferred: experience evaluating business’ carbon footprints and/or reporting on these in line with the GHG Protocol.

We want to encourage those who may feel they are overqualified for the role. For the right person with the right experience, compensation is open for negotiation.

Benefits & compensation

💸    Financial compensation: performance-based bonus + pension contributions after 3-month probationary period. Salary is based on experience and future increases in performance.

🌴     Holiday allowance: 24 days holiday + reduced work between Xmas and New Year + 8 bank holidays.

🤜     Impact: You will be helping to solve the biggest crisis of our lifetime.

📈     Personal development: As a start-up, you are very much in control of your career path which will be based on ability rather than experience.

🌍    Location: We work remotely but like to meet up occasionally, most likely in London.

💻     Other benefits: There is no perfect package that works for everyone so we are open to ideas to better understand what works for you to help you flourish at work.

*It can be quite tricky to briefly explain what the entire role would require or what a typical working day looks like so if you would like more information or for us to expand on anything please feel free to ask.

How to apply

Write us an attention grabbing email and send your CV to info@ecollectivecarbon.com (we’re open to more creative ideas too).

If your application grabs our attention, we’ll set up a 20-30 minute call to get to know each other.
